2023 POETRYLINE PUBLIC EVENTS:

April 1-30 – Millbrook Tribute Garden Poetry Walk
Take a stroll and enjoy some fine literature from budding local poets! Select poems from children's poetryline submissions will be on display for the month of April. Savor the creativity of some of our youngest minds!

April 1-30 – Alden Place Poems - Millbrook LIbrary
Stop by the library during the month of April and enjoy the poetic musings of Alden Place's 3rd graders! Over 60 poems will be on display for the entire community to enjoy.

April 8 –  One Hour Haiku Workshop for Kids, ages  3 - 13, Merritt Bookstore, 10:30-11:30AM
Join Kira on the lawn outside the shop to read and write haiku! The three lines of haiku center around a moment, and perception– there is (contrary to most American teaching) flexibility of syllables and ways to help us all get to the heart of something we have seen, realized, or pondered. All materials provided. (Event will be held indoors if needed.)

April 12 – Open Mic Night at the Millbrook Library, 6 PM
Come with any writing– poetry, short story, essay, creative nonfiction, manifesto, screed, or even a guitar and song. Readers will read on a first-come basis, so sign up on the library website early to ensure a slot! (https://millbrooklibrary.org/) or call 845-677-3611.

April 15 – Adult One Hour Haiku Workshop, Merritt Bookstore, 2:30PM - 3:30PM

April 22 –  Hudson Valley Writers Workshop, Millbrook LIbrary, 1 pm
Whether you’ve never written a word or are an established writer – try your hand at a five-minute spontaneous writing adventure, critique a short paragraph, or just listen to group
